Everything you want to know before booking — sessions, what to wear, race timing and our policies.

Sports massage is a hands-on treatment that works on the muscles, tendons and soft tissues of the body. It uses deeper, more targeted techniques than a relaxation massage to reduce muscular tension, improve movement and support recovery — whether you train hard or simply feel tight and stiff.

Sports massage can feel intense in areas of tightness, but it should never be unbearable. Your therapist will always work within your comfort level and adjust the pressure to suit you. Many clients describe it as a 'good hurt' — and the relief afterwards is worth it.

For a first visit we recommend 60 minutes. This allows time for a short consultation, a full assessment of the areas bothering you, and a thorough treatment. Shorter 30 or 45 minute sessions work well for follow-ups focused on one specific area.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Depending on the area being treated you may be asked to remove some layers, but you will always be appropriately covered with towels throughout your treatment. Shorts and a vest top or sports bra work well.

We recommend avoiding intense training for 24 hours after a deep tissue or sports massage, to give your muscles time to respond and recover. Light movement, walking and gentle stretching are absolutely fine.

A pre-event massage works best 2–5 days before your race — close enough to leave you feeling loose and fresh, but with enough time for your body to settle. A lighter flush-through session can also be beneficial the day before.

Ideally book your post-marathon recovery massage 2–4 days after the race, once the initial soreness has started to settle. This helps ease DOMS, restore movement and speed up your return to training.

Absolutely. Many of our clients are simply dealing with muscular tightness, stiffness from desk work, or general aches and pains. Every treatment is personalised to your body and lifestyle — you don't need to be an athlete to benefit.
